This medicine is intended for use in adults and adolescents from the age of 15 to reduce the viscosity of sputum in cases of short-term respiratory disorders with difficulty in expectorating (difficulty in expectorating bronchial secretions).
The Composition
The active substance is carbocisteine.
1 ml of syrup contains 50 mg of carbocisteine.
One measuring cup filled to the 15 ml mark contains 750 mg carbocisteine.
The other ingredients are sucrose, glycerin, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), caramel flavor*, sunset yellow FCF (E 110), patent blue V (E 131), sodium hydroxide, and purified water.
Caramel flavor composition: levulinic acid, paraanisaldehyde, veratralaldehyde, methyl anisate, ethyl anisate, benzyl cinnamate, 1,3-dimethoxybenzene, ethylvanillin, cocoa extract, vanilla extract, bitter almond oil, 4-methoxyacetaphon, methylcyclopentenolone, 6-methyl coumarin, gamma octolactone, piperonal/ heliotropin, propylene glycol, triacetin, gamma valerolactone, vanillin, 3-hydroxy-2-methyl-4-pyrone.
Use
One measuring cup filled to the 15 ml mark contains 750 mg carbocisteine.
For adults and adolescents from the age of 15, the recommended dose is:
• one measuring cup filled to the 15 ml mark 3 times a day (morning, noon, and evening), preferably between meals. Use no more than 3 measuring cups of syrup per day.
